Our second wheelchair accessible trip to Alcudia, Mallorca was even better than the first! In the past few years improvements have been made to the beach access which made our trip even more enjoyable!

Stay
We stayed at the Hotel BQ Delfin Azul which is a 10 minute roll to the beach. We have stayed here before and really liked how accessible the hotel was for me and my wheelchair so we decided to stay here again. We booked our holiday four weeks before departure with Tui. However due to the length of time it takes for them to confirm an accessible room, we arranged for an accessible room to be allocated to us with the hotel directly.
You can find out more about wheelchair accessibility at the Hotel BQ Delfin Azul in our review posted on YouTube:
Travel
To get to and from the hotel we used accessible taxi transfers arranged and paid for by Tui. The taxi was a WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) with a ramp in the boot which you wheeled up and the ramp folds up behind. Both taxi journeys were great, the drivers were really good and made sure my wheelchair was fastened in securely.
Whilst in Alcudia there is an accessible bus that does various trips around the island. We didn't use the bus but saw that the ramp was in the middle of the bus and could be folded out by the driver.
As most of Alcudia is flat, the best way to get around is to roll!

Visit
The highlight of visiting Alcudia is for the beach. The sea is beautiful, clear and really shallow which makes accessing it easier. We'll be posting another blog and vlog about the beach access so in meantime, here are our top 3 accessible places to visit in Alcudia...

Alcudia Old Town
Alcudia Old Town can be reached by a short taxi journey or by a 40 minute roll. We decided to roll there as there were plenty of level pavements and we got to see more of Alcudia too. To get there we went on the path alongside the beach up to Port d'Alcudia then took the path 'Carrer del Teatre Roma' and entered Alcudia Old Town at 'Carrer d'En Serra'.
The old town is quite small but it's nice as a trip out to take a break from the beach! There are lots of tourist shops, bars and the access is pretty good.
There is also a market inside the Old Town every Tuesday and Sunday from 8.00am to 1.30pm. I imagine this gets very busy so it would be best to arrive early!

Accessible Alcudia Marina
The Marina has also been renovated and is really accessible. Here you can see the boats which have docked. Some of them are massive! The Marina has a nice selection of bars and restaurants too.
Just next to the Marina you can roll alongside the sea. It's a great spot to watch the sun set!

Bars and Restaurants
The area around 'Av. Pere Mas i Reus' is very touristy so I imagine it is really busy in the Summer! There are many many tourist shops here as well as bars and restaurants. There are some bars alongside the canal which are nice to have a cocktail at in the evening!

Overall, we had another great holiday in Alcudia, Majorca and we would recommend the location and hotel for it's great accessibility.
